It’s the end of the year! 2021 feels like it came and went. Looking back on 2021, can you reflect on your experiences without judging them as good/bad, wins/losses? Can you envision a set of goals for 2022 for different parts of your life without berating yourself that there’s so much to change? Many people get worked up when it comes to this exercise because it forces us to take a good look at what’s working and what’s not and begs us the question – is it time to make the change or to stay in this mode?

Below is a list of questions to help you through the process:

  1. Am I using my time wisely? Where do my days go?
  2. What are the fleeting desires I have that I push away because of daily responsibilities? Are any of them worth making real?
  3. Is my morning routine helping/hindering me to achieve my goals?
  4. Am I thinking negative thoughts before I fall asleep?
  5. How is my physical health- what am I doing to optimize it?
  6. How often do I stress over things outside my control? How much have I let go of?
  7. Am I achieving the goals that I’ve set for myself?
  8. Has the pandemic changed how I view life, work, and family? What worked and what hasn’t?
  9. Are there negative habits I need to re-evaluate and positive ones I need to adopt? In what areas?
  10. Which is worse – failing or never trying?
  11. How often am I judging others and I am right – how often not? Is this a good way to discern who I let into my inner circle?
  12. Am I ready to let go of perfectionism even if I am scared that I won’t know what to do next?
  13. Looking back on the moments I reacted out of fear, what was the outcome? Was it as bad, less than, or worse than what I imagined?
  14. How have I shown up in my relationships with others – what’s changed? What keeps coming up?
